Ham Radio General License Class

The Humboldt Amateur Radio Club is offering a class to prepare students for the Federal Communication Commission’s Amateur Radio General Class license examination.
The General Class license is the second level license for Amateur Radio, the entry level Technician Class license is pre-requisite.
The class will be held in Eureka at the Humboldt Bay Fire Training Room on 6th Street between C and D Streets.
The class will assist students in learning radio and electronic fundamentals, tips on operating station equipment, procedures for communicating with other Hams, license and operating regulations and radio safety, as necessary to pass the examination.
Students are encouraged to purchase the General Class License Manual 8th Edition, available from the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), however any general class study guide will be sufficient. The class is based on ARRL material but will be student-directed with emphasis placed on topics identified as needing clarification.
Following the class, students will be able to take the FCC license test scheduled for Saturday, March 16, 10:00 AM, at the HB Fire Training Room.
